Lion, iCloud and iOS 5

Lion Icloud Ios5

The BusyMac team attended WWDC in San Francisco last week to learn about Apple's latest technologies, including Lion, iCloud and iOS5. Here's what we learned and how it affects BusyCal and BusyToDo.

Lion

OS X Lion will be available from the Mac App Store this July for $29.99. It includes dozens of new features including Multi-Touch gestures, Mission Control, and full-screen apps.

We are working on an update to BusyCal (version 1.5.4.) that is compatible with Lion that we expect to be available by the time Lion is released.

iCloud

Apple has announced a new service to replace MobileMe called iCloud that will be available this fall and free for iOS 5 and OS X Lion users. If you are currently using MobileMe, you'll be able to move your MobileMe calendars to iCloud when the service is available.

We expect BusyCal and BusyToDo to be compatible with iCloud when it is released.

iOS 5

iOS5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch is coming this fall. It includes many new features including a new to-do app called Reminders that syncs tasks with iCal and BusyCal through iCloud.

BusyToDo will be updated in the fall to be compatible with iOS 5. BusyCal will be updated in the fall to sync tasks with the new Reminders app through iCloud. Those who wish to sync tasks in BusyCal with their iOS device will be able to sync with either BusyToDo or the new Reminders app.
