Syncing with Apple Contacts
You can sync BusyContacts with Apple Contacts on your Mac.
BusyContacts does not sync “directly” with Apple Contacts. Instead, both apps sync through the same cloud account (iCloud, Exchange, Fruux, Google, or another CardDAV server).
If Apple Contacts is already syncing with a cloud-based service, it should automatically sync with BusyContacts once you configure BusyContacts to sync with the same account.
Checklist
- In Apple Contacts, verify the account is enabled:
- System Settings > Internet Accounts (or Accounts inside Contacts.app on older macOS)
- In BusyContacts, add the same account:
- BusyContacts > Settings > Accounts
- Create a small test contact on the server-backed address book (not “On My Mac”) and confirm it appears in:
- BusyContacts
- Apple Contacts
- (optionally) the provider’s web UI (for example iCloud.com or Google Contacts)
BusyContacts will not sync local "On My Mac" contacts with macOS Contacts. The Setup Assistant will allow you to import local contacts from macOS Contacts, if they exist, but this is a one-time operation and the local contacts will not remain in sync between BusyContacts and macOS Contacts.
