Why does BusyContacts show Name Order when I disabled it?

The Name Order option in BusyContacts > Settings > Info Panel controls whether the field appears by default. It does not remove a name order already saved on an individual contact.

When a contact has its own name order, BusyContacts keeps the field visible so it is clear why that contact may be displayed differently from the general setting. For example, an imported vCard may contain:

X-ABOrder:LAST

This value tells BusyContacts to display that contact with the family name first. It does not identify the contact's language or country. Family-name-first ordering is customary in several naming traditions, and an individual contact may use a different order from the rest of your contacts.

Apple Contacts and other contact apps may save or preserve this value without showing the field in their own editors.

Remove the contact-specific name order

  1. Edit the contact in BusyContacts.
  2. Set Name Order to Default.
  3. Save the contact.

The contact will then follow BusyContacts' general name-order setting. If Name Order remains disabled under Settings > Info Panel, the field will no longer appear for that contact.
