Manage Plugins button not showing in Apple Mail preferences

BusyContacts has supported two different ways of showing email activity from Apple Mail:

  • Mail extension (macOS 12+): Uses the BusyContacts Mail Assistant MailKit extension and is enabled in Mail > Settings/Preferences > Extensions. This is the recommended option.
  • Legacy Apple Mail plug-in: Uses Mail > Settings/Preferences > General > Manage Plug-ins… and is only available in older BusyContacts versions.
caution

The legacy Apple Mail plug-in is no longer supported. The last BusyContacts release to include it was BusyContacts 2025.4.4.

If you're using a newer BusyContacts version, you should not be looking for Manage Plug-ins…. Use the Mail extension instructions in the Activity List documentation instead.

Although this is an Apple Mail bug, please try following the trouble shooting steps given in this article to resolve this issue.
