Why does New Card open Quick Contact instead of a blank contact?

BusyContacts still opens a blank contact when you choose File > New Card or press Command-N. If a Smart Filter is active, however, BusyContacts opens Quick Contact instead.

A blank contact may not match the active Smart Filter and could disappear from the filtered list before you finish entering its details. Quick Contact avoids this by letting you enter the contact outside the filtered list.

Open a blank contact

  1. Click Unfiltered in the Filter Bar to turn off the active Smart Filter.
  2. Choose File > New Card or press Command-N.

The usual blank contact will appear below the contact list, ready for editing.

For more information, see Smart Filters.
