Why does my calendar's name appear as a guest after I move a meeting?
You accept a meeting invitation in a Google Calendar account, then change the event's calendar from the account's main calendar to another calendar in the same account. Afterwards the guest list shows an extra guest named after the calendar you moved the meeting to. If the calendar is called Personal, a guest called "Personal" appears, usually marked as accepted.
This comes from Google's servers, not from BusyCal.
Why the calendar becomes a guest
In Google's design, a meeting invitation belongs on the account's main calendar. The only way Google can show the same meeting on one of your other calendars is to invite that calendar to the meeting. So Google adds a guest whose address is the calendar's internal address (their addresses end in @group.calendar.google.com) and whose display name is the calendar's name.
Google adds this guest on its own after the move. BusyCal uploads the moved meeting with only the organizer and you on the guest list, and Google's server returns it with the calendar-named guest already added.
Google also has no true move for invitations. Its move feature is available only to the person who organized the meeting, so an invitation you received cannot change calendars the way a regular event does.
This is not specific to BusyCal
The same guest appears if you move the invitation in Apple Calendar or any other app that syncs with Google Calendar, and it is visible when you open the event on the Google Calendar website.
Is anything wrong with the meeting?
No. Your own response is intact and the organizer still sees the answer you sent. The extra guest is how Google records which calendar the meeting is on.
Do not delete the calendar-named guest from the meeting. That guest entry is what keeps the meeting on that calendar, so removing it removes the event from the calendar.
What to do instead
Leave accepted invitations on the account's main calendar. To keep them organized in BusyCal, use tags or calendar colors rather than moving invitations between calendars.
