Widgets or Apple Watch show missing events

Why are my widgets or Apple Watch missing events?

BusyCal widgets (and the BusyCal Apple Watch app) use a specific Calendar Set. If that set doesn’t include the calendars you expect, widgets and the watch app may appear empty or incomplete.

Fix: Select the correct Calendar Set

  1. Open BusyCal > Settings.
  2. Tap Calendar Sets.
  3. Tap Widgets & Watch.
  4. Choose a Calendar Set that includes the calendars you want shown.

Tasks missing from Apple Watch

If the Calendar Set is correct but some tasks are missing:

  • A task must have a due date to appear in the BusyCal Watch app.
  • A due time is not required for the main Tasks list.
  • Complications that show what is happening now or next use timed items, so a task also needs a due time to appear there.
  • Apple Reminders lists do not need to be converted into BusyCal task calendars. The same display rules apply to both.

For details, see BusyCal for Apple Watch.

Refresh the data

If the Calendar Set is correct but the widget still looks stale:

  • Open BusyCal once to trigger a refresh.
  • Remove and re-add the widget to force an update.

If the Watch looks stale, open BusyCal on the iPhone once, then open BusyCal on the Watch again while the devices are connected.
