Tasks added on iPhone/iPad don’t show up on the Mac
If you create tasks in BusyCal on iPhone/iPad but they don’t appear on BusyCal for Mac, it’s usually one of these causes:
- The tasks were created in a different account/calendar/list than the one you’re viewing on the Mac.
- A Calendar Set / Smart Filter on the Mac is hiding the task calendar.
- The task calendar is visible on iOS but unchecked (hidden) on the Mac.
Fix checklist
- On iPhone/iPad, open one of the missing tasks and confirm which calendar/list it belongs to.
- On the Mac, ensure that same calendar is enabled in the Calendar List sidebar.
- If you’re using a Calendar Set / Smart Filter, make sure the task calendar is included in that set (or switch to a view that shows all calendars).
- Trigger a refresh:
- Mac: press
⌘R - iOS: open BusyCal and pull to refresh if needed
- Mac: press
If you’re syncing Microsoft 365 / Outlook, make sure you’re using the Office 365 (Microsoft Graph) account type (recommended) rather than legacy Exchange methods.
If none of the above applies and the tasks still aren't appearing, it may be an Apple Reminders sync delay. See Reminders Sync Slow or Stuck for a step-by-step diagnostic.
