Google birthdays are showing in my Primary calendar (or the Birthdays calendar is missing)

Google has changed how birthdays are exposed in Google Calendar, and in some cases birthdays can appear inside your Primary calendar instead of a separate “Birthdays” calendar.

BusyCal includes a fix/workaround for this scenario.
